IMPACT OF OUR HOTEL OPERATIONS ON THE ENVIRONMENT

At H Hotels Collection, we strive to mitigate the impact of our hotel operations on the environment and we are committed to promoting responsible environmental practices, with the aim to protect natural habitats, minimize waste, and manage water and energy consumption.

To this end, H Hotels Collection is in compliance with an Environmental Management System according to the ISO 14001:2004 standard for the prevention of environmental pollution, and continuous improvement of the environmental management system.

We actively raise awareness among the employees involved in the Environmental Management System, and the public by implementing environmental education programmes and communicating the hotel’s environmental philosophy.

Blue Flag

Our beaches are awarded with the Blue Flag, a certification that confirms the excellent quality of the sea water, the safety of our beach premises, as well as the superior services offered.

Local Beach Clean-Up

Year after year we organize local beach clean-up events and it seems they have already been established as a tradition! The beach clean-up initiative takes place in three different coastline zones used by our hotels. Hotel staff, guests and management are actively involved in the cleaning of the public areas surrounding the hotel’s beachfront facilities, which is normally a responsibility of local authorities. All participants are provided with hand gloves, plenty of water and coloured plastic bags – each colour corresponding to different materials, and everyone gets a t-shirt with the logo of the initiative and a hat, as acknowledgment for their participation.

Recycling

We acknowledge that reducing our environmental footprint is of paramount importance, so recycling has been also included in our environmentally friendly practices. In the course of two years, we have managed to effectively recycle numerous materials, including batteries, lamps, electronic equipment, used cook oils, etc.
